LADD HILL BENGALS MOSAIC EVOLUTION “LUCY”

Lucy was bred and born here in our cattery.  Her mom is JungleTrax Sweet Surrender of Ladd Hill Bengals, or "Suri", a wonderful cat that was recently retired and adopted to a wonderful home.  The father is CH JungleTrax Ever Wonderstruck of Ladd Hill Bengals or "Evers" also a gorgeous Brown Bengal from breeder Anthony Hutcherson of Jungletrax.

Anthony's experience with the Bengal breed goes back to the beginning of Bengal history.  He was a personal friend of the late Jean Mill, founder of the Bengal cat and was fortunate to have some of her cats.  Anthony’s cats are some of the most sweet, affectionate, intelligent, BEAUTIFUL Bengals you'll ever meet, and we are extremely grateful to have the JungleTrax genetics in our lines.

Lucy has a beautiful long, low carrying body, nice thick tail, and a beautiful head with large olive green eyes.  Her coat pattern is probably one of her most spectacular characteristics. Her spots and rosettes are inky black on a tan background, with a beautiful speckled pattern around her shoulders. Chris Kaelin of Stanford University, who has been doing research on coat color pattern genetics in mammals, recently discovered that Lucy carries the gene for the Asian Leopard Cat tabby allele  Ta^M_pb - an exciting discovery since this gene seems to manifest a wilder-looking coat, closer to that of the Asian Leopard cat.

Lucy is a total love bug.  She is incredibly affectionate, playful and very athletic.  She loves to cuddle and will turn over backwards in my arms like a baby to get tummy rubs.  Recently her new thing is to jump on my back while I'm taking care of her kittens. She doesn't always time this very well, but I still love it. We certainly love our Lucy girl!
